أَخْبَرَنَا أبو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، أَخْبَرَنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الطَّرَائِفِيُّ، حدثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حدثنا مَالِكٌ، قَالَ: وَحدثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، فِيمَا قَرَأَ عَلَى مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ،
أَنَّهُ قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَخْبَرَنَا وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ جَالِسَيْنِ، فَدَعَا مُحَمَّدٌ رَجُلًا قَالَ: أَخْبِرْنِي بِالَّذِي سَمِعْتَ مِنْ أَبِيكَ، قَالَ الرَّجُلُ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ أَتَى زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ فَقَالَ: كَيْفَ تَرَى فِي قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ فِي سَبْعٍ؟ قَالَ: " ذَلِكَ حَسَنٌ، وَلِأَنْ أَقْرَأَهُ فِي نِصْفِ شَهْرٍ أَوْ عِشْرِينَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ وَسَلْنِي " لِمَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ: فَإِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ، قَالَ زَيْدٌ: " لِكَيْ أَتَدَبَّرَ وَأَقِفَ عَلَيْهِ " وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو صَالِحِ بْنُ أَبِي طَاهِرٍ، أَخْبَرَنا جَدِّي يَحْيَى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْقَاضِي، حدثنا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حدثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، حدثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ جَالِسًا أَنَا وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَبَّانَ،... فَذَكَرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ بِنَحْوِهِ

Manṣūr al-Qāḍī informed us, Abū ʿAlī Muḥammad b. ʿAmr narrated to us, al-Qaʿnabī narrated to us, Sulaymān b. Bilāl narrated to us, from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd, who said: "I was sitting, I and Muḥammad b.
