أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْعَصَمِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ خَشْرَمٍ
قَالَ: قَالَ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ بَعْضُ الْفُقَهَاءِ: كَانَ يُقَالُ: " الْعُلَمَاءُ ثَلَاثَةٌ: عَالِمٌ بِاللهِ، وَعَالِمٌ بِأَمْرِ اللهِ، وَعَالِمٌ بِاللهِ وَبِأَمْرِ اللهِ، فَأَمَّا الْعَالِمُ بِاللهِ: فَهُوَ الَّذِي يَخَافُ اللهَ، وَلَا يَعْلَمُ السُّنَّةَ، وَأَمَّا الْعَالِمُ بِأَمْرِ اللهِ: فَهُوَ الَّذِي يَعْلَمُ السُّنَّةَ، وَلَا يَخَافُ اللهَ، وَأَمَّا الْعَالِمُ بِاللهِ وَبِأَمْرِ اللهِ: فَهُوَ الَّذِي يَعْلَمُ السُّنَّةَ، وَيَخَافُ اللهَ، فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي يُدْعَى عَظِيمًا فِي مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَوَاتِ "
