أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ، أخبرنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، حدثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، حدثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حدثنا ابْنُ خُبَيْقٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَكَّاءَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ مَعْرُوفًا الْكَرْخِيَّ
يَقُولُ: " إِذَا أَرَادَ اللهُ بِعَبْدٍ خَيْرًا فَتَحَ عَلَيْهِ بَابَ الْعَمَلِ وَأَغْلَقَ عَلَيْهِ بَابَ الْجَدَلِ، وَإِذَا أَرَادَ بِعَبْدٍ شَرًّا أَغْلَقَ عَلَيْهِ بَابَ الْعَمَلِ وَفَتَحَ عَلَيْهِ بَابَ الْجَدَلِ "
