أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ الْحَافِظُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ أَحْمَدَ الْجُرْجَانِيَّ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ، يَقُولُ: حدثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حدثنا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُجَمِّعِ بْنِ جارِيَةَ،
يَقُولُ: " كُنَّا نَسْتَعِينُ عَلَى حِفْظِ الْحَدِيثِ بِالْعَمَلِ بِهِ "
