أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّاهِدُ، حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ السَّرِيَّ بْنَ الْمُغَلِّسِ
يَقُولُ: " سَمِعْتُ كَلِمَةً انْتَفَعْتُ بِهَا مُنْذُ خَمْسِينَ سَنَةً، كُنْتُ أَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ بِمَكَّةَ، فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ جَالِسٌ تَحْتَ الْمِيزَابِ وَحَوْلَهُ جَمَاعَةٌ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لَهُمْ: " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، مَنْ عَلِمَ مَا طَلَبَ هَانَ عَلَيْهِ مَا بَذَلَ "
