Notes

machine translationAl-Bukhārī narrated it in the Ṣaḥīḥ, from Abū Nuʿaym, from Zuhayr. Muslim also transmitted it from the hadith of Jābir b. Samurah, except that he said: "No, rather like the sun and the moon, round." Imam Aḥmad, may Allah have mercy on him, said: We have narrated in another narration, from Jābir b. Samurah, that he said: "I saw the Prophet ﷺ on a bright moonlit night, and he was wearing a red garment. I began to look at him and at the moon, and he was more beautiful in my eyes than the moon."
