أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، أَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ، نَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الرَّازِيُّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا شَيْبَانَ، يُذْكَرُ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ،
أَنَّ أَبَا يُوسُفَ أَتَى مُعَاوِيَةَ فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنًا، فَلَمْ يَرَ مِنْهُ مَا يُحِبُّ وَرَأَى كَرَاهَتَهُ، فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً ". قَالَ: فَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ قَالَ لَكُمْ؟، قَالَ: قَالَ: " اصْبِرُوا ". قَالَ: فَاصْبِرُوا. قَالَ: فَقَالَ: وَاللهِ لَا أَسْأَلُكَ شَيْئًا أَبَدًا، وَقَدِمَ الْبَصْرَةَ فَنَزَلَ عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَفَرَّغَ لَهُ بَيْتَهُ، وَقَالَ: لَأَصْنَعَنَّ بِكَ كَمَا صَنَعْتُ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَقَالَ: كَمْ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ الدَّيْنِ؟، قَالَ: عِشْرُونَ أَلْفًا. فَأَعْطَاهُ أَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفًا وَعِشْرِينَ مَمْلُوكًا، وَقَالَ: لَكَ مَا فِي الْبَيْتِ كُلُّهُ
