أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بُشْرَانَ، أَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ الْبَرْدَعِيُّ، نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ: نَا عَمْرُو بْنُ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا طَالِبٍ الْقَاضِي
يَقُولُ: " كَانَ يُقَالُ: جَوَامِعُ الْبِرِّ فِي طُولِ الْفِكْرَةِ وَالصَّمْتُ سَلَامَةٌ، وَالْخَوْضُ فِي الْبَاطِلِ حَسْرَةٌ وَنَدَامَةٌ، وَإِنَّمَا يَدْعُو بِالْوَيْلِ وَالثُّبُورِ غَدًا فِي الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ جَعَلَ الْآخِرَةَ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ وَنَصَبَ الدُّنْيَا أَمَامَهُ "
