أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي سُبَيْعَةَ الضُّبَعِيِّ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَمَرَّ بِهِ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أُحِبُّهُ فِي اللهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَوَمَا أَعْلَمْتَهُ ذَلِكَ؟» قَالَ لَا قَالَ «فَاذْهَبْ إِلَيْهِ فَأَعْلِمْهُ» فَذَهَبَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أُحِبُّكَ فِي اللهِ قَالَ أَحَبَّكَ الَّذِي أَحْبَبْتَنِي لَهُ [80] 9941 أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي سُبَيْعَةَ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ حَدَّثَهُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَهَذَا الصَّوَابُ عِنْدَنَا وَحَدِيثُ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ خَطَأٌ وَحَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَثْبَتُ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ بِحَدِيثِ ثَابِتٍ مِنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ

✧ A man was with the Prophet ﷺ, and a man passed by him. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I love him for the sake of Allah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Have you informed him of that?" He said: "No." He said: "Go to him and inform him." So he went to him and said: "I love you for the sake of Allah." He said: "May He for whose sake you loved me love you." [80] 9941 Ibrahim b. Ya'qub informed me; he said: Al-Hajjaj narrated to us; he said: Hammad b. Salamah narrated to us from Thabit from Habib b. Abi Subay'a from Al-Harith from a man who narrated this hadith to him. Abu Abd al-Rahman said: "This is correct in our view, and the hadith of Husayn b. Waqid is an error. Hammad b. Salamah is more reliable in the hadith of Thabit than Husayn b. Waqid. And Allah knows best."
