✧ What to say to someone who recites a lost item in the mosque?

أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقُولُ مَنْ دَعَا إِلَى الْجَمَلِ الْأَحْمَرِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَ «لَا وَجَدْتَ إِنَّمَا بُنِيَتْ هَذِهِ الْمَسَاجِدُ لِلَّذِي بُنِيَتْ لَهُ» [77] خَالَفَهُ مِسْعَرُ بْنُ كِدَامٍ رَوَاهُ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ مُرْسَلًا

Translation

  4. ʿAlqamah b. Marthad
  5. Sulaymān b. Buraydah from his father

✧ The Prophet ﷺ heard a man saying, "Who will call for the red camel?" in the mosque. He said: "May you not find it. These mosques were built only for what they were built." [77] Mis'ar b. Kidam disagreed with him; he narrated it from 'Alqamah b. Marthad from Salman b. Buraydah as mursal.
