أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ وَخَالِدٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ تَبَارَكْتَ ذَا الْجِلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدِيثُ شُعْبَةَ وَيَزِيدَ بْنِ هَارُونَ أَوْلَى عِنْدَنَا بِالصَّوَابِ مِنَ الْحَدِيثِ الْأَوَّلِ وَالْحَدِيثُ الْأَوَّلُ خَطَأٌ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ

✧ When the Prophet ﷺ said the salam after his prayer, he would say: “O Allah, You are Peace, and from You is peace. Blessed are You, Possessor of Majesty and Honor.” Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: The hadith of Shu'bah and Yazid b. Harun is more correct in our view than the first hadith, and the first hadith is an error. And Allah knows best.
