أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ قَالَ

رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَضْرِبُ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ يَقُولُ يَا أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ تَزْعُمُونَ أَنِّي أَكْذِبُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَشْهَدُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَغْسِلْهُ سَبْعًا وَإِذَا انْقَطَعَ شِسْعُ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلَا يَمْشِ فِي الْأُخْرَى حَتَّى يُصْلِحَهَا»

✧ I saw Abu Hurairah striking his hand on his forehead saying, 'O people of Iraq, do you claim that I lie about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "If a dog laps in the vessel of one of you, then let him wash it seven times; and if the strap of one of you breaks, then let him not walk in the other one until he fixes it."'
