✧ Supplication between Takbir and recitation

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اسْتَفْتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ سَكَتَ هُنَيَّةً فَقُلْتُ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا تَقُولُ فِي سُكُوتِكَ بَيْنَ التَّكْبِيرِ وَالْقِرَاءَةِ؟ قَالَ أَقُولُ اللهُمَّ بَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطَايَايَ كَمَا بَاعَدْتَ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ اللهُمَّ نَقِّنِي مِنْ خَطَايَايَ كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الْأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ اللهُمَّ اغْسِلْنِي مِنْ خَطَايَايَ بِالثَّلْجِ وَالْمَاءِ وَالْبَرَدِ

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began the prayer, he paused for a little while. I said, 'May my father and mother be ransomed for you, O Messenger of Allah, what do you say during your silence between the takbir and the recitation?' He said: 'I say: O Allah, put a distance between me and my sins as You have put a distance between the East and the West. O Allah, cleanse me of my sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt. O Allah, wash my sins from me with snow, water, and hail.'
