أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَزْرَةُ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
كَانَ لَنَا سِتْرٌ فِيهِ تِمْثَالُ طَيْرٍ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْبَيْتِ إِذَا دَخَلَ الدَّاخِلُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا عَائِشَةُ حَوِّلِيهِ فَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَخَلْتُ فَرَأَيْتُهُ ذَكَرْتُ الدُّنْيَا» قَالَتْ وَكَانَ لَنَا قَطِيفَةٌ لَهَا عَلَمٌ فَكُنَّا نَلْبَسُهَا فَلَمْ نَقْطَعْهُ

✧ We had a curtain with the image of a bird on it, facing the entrance. When someone entered, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “O Aishah, turn it around, for whenever I enter and see it, I am reminded of the world.” She said: And we had a velvet cloth with a border, and we used to wear it, and we did not cut it.
