أَخْبَرَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ دَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ وَجَدَ فِيهِ صُورَةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَصُورَةَ مَرْيَمَ فَقَالَ «أَمَّا هُمْ فَقَدْ سَمِعُوا أَنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ لَا تَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ صُورَةٌ وَهَذَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ مُصَوَّرٌ فَمَا بَالُهُ يَسْتَقْسِمُ»

Translation

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the House, he found in it an image of Ibrahim and an image of Maryam. He said: “As for them, they have already heard that the angels do not enter a house in which there is an image. And this is Ibrahim depicted—so why is he drawing lots?”
