أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا فِطْرُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى تَكَادَ إِبْهَامَاهُ تُحَاذِي شَحْمَةَ أُذُنَيْهِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ أَبِيهِ وَالْحَدِيثُ فِي نَفْسِهِ صَحِيحٌ
Translation

✧ He saw the Prophet ﷺ, when he began the prayer, raise his hands until his thumbs were nearly level with the lobes of his ears. Abu Abd al-Rahman said: Abd al-Jabbar b. Wa’il did not hear from his father, but the hadith itself is sound.
