✧ The command to wear white clothes

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْبَيَاضِ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ فَلْيَلْبَسْهَا أَحْيَاؤُكُمْ وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمْ» خَالَفَهُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ رَوَاهُ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ

Translation

  3. Ayyūb
  4. Abū Qilābah
  5. Samurah

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “You should wear white garments; let your living wear them and shroud your dead in them, for they are among the best of your garments.” Said b. Abi Aruba contradicted him, narrating it from Ayyub, from Abu Qilaba, from Abu al-Muhallab, from Samurah.
