أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي شَيْخٍ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَعِنْدَهُ جَمْعٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ

✧ He heard Mu'awiyah say, while a group of the companions of Muhammad ﷺ were with him: Do you know that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing silk? They said: O Allah, yes.
