أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَرْبٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا فَلَبِسَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «شَغَلَنِي هَذَا عَنْكُمْ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمِ إِلَيْهِ نَظْرَةٌ وَإِلَيْكُمْ نَظْرَةٌ» ثُمَّ أَلْقَاهُ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ acquired a ring and wore it. Then he said: “This has distracted me from you — since today, one glance to it and one glance to you.” Then he threw it away.
