✧ That he heard him say: “I went out with a companion of mine named Abu Amir, a man from Ma‘afir, to pray in Ilya, and their storyteller was a man from Azd called Abu Rayhana, one of the Companions.” Abu al-Husayn said: “My companion preceded me to the mosque, then I caught up with him and sat beside him.” He said: “Did you catch Abu Rayhana’s stories?” I said: “No.” He said: “I heard him say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade ten things: tooth filing, tattooing, plucking, a man lying with a man under one cover without a barrier, a woman lying with a woman under one cover without a barrier, a man putting silk at the bottom of his garments like the Persians, or putting silk on his shoulders like the Persians, plunder, riding on leopard skins, and wearing rings except for one in authority.”
