أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ هُوَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ §رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُصَفِّرُ لِحْيَتَهُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ

رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُصَفِّرُ بِهَا قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ «وَهَذَا أَوْلَى بِالصَّوَابِ مِنَ الَّذِي قَبْلَهُ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ»

✧ I saw the Prophet ﷺ dyeing with it. Abu Abd al-Rahman said: “This is more correct than the one before it, and Allah knows best.”
