✧ The issue of every shepherd regarding what was herded.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللهَ سَائِلٌ كُلَّ رَاعٍ عَمَّا اسْتَرْعَاهُ أَحَفِظَ ذَلِكَ أَمْ ضَيَّعَ؟ حَتَّى يُسْأَلَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ لَمْ يَرْوِ هَذَا أَحَدٌ عَلِمْنَاهُ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ غَيْرَ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ 9130 أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ مِثْلَهُ

Translation

Chain of narrators

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Indeed, Allah will ask every shepherd about what he was entrusted to care for: did he safeguard it or waste it? Even a man will be asked about his own household." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: "None that we know narrated this from Mu'adh b. Hisham except Ishaq b. Ibrahim b. Rahawayh. Ishaq b. Ibrahim informed us, saying: 9130 Mu'adh b. Hisham informed us, saying: My father narrated to me from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, the like of it."
