al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 9099

✧ The man's departure at night, and mentioning the differences in the narrators' words about the news of al-Sha'bi from Jabir in it.

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ سَيَّارٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمَّا رَجَعْنَا ذَهَبْنَا لِنَدْخُلَ فَقَالَ «أَمْهِلُوا حَتَّى نَدْخُلَ لَيْلًا أَيْ عِشَاءً حَتَّى تَمْتَشِطَ الشَّعِثَةُ وَتَسْتَحِدَّ الْمُغِيبَةُ»

✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. When we returned, we went to enter, and he said: “Wait until we enter at night—that is, in the evening—so that the disheveled woman may comb her hair and the one whose husband is absent may shave.”
