أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ
كَانَتِ الْيَهُودُ إِذَا حَاضَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ مِنْهُمْ لَمْ يُؤَاكِلُوهَا وَلَمْ يُشَارِبُوهَا وَلَمْ يُجَامِعُوهُنَّ فِي الْبُيُوتِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى {وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْمَحِيضِ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًى فَاعْتَزِلُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي الْمَحِيضِ وَلَا تَقْرَبُوهُنَّ حَتَّى يَطْهُرْنَ} [البقرة 222] قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «افْعَلُوا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا الْجِمَاعَ»

✧ The Jews, when a woman among them menstruated, would not eat with her, drink with her, or have intercourse with her in the houses. So Allah, Exalted is He, revealed: {And they ask you about menstruation. Say: It is harm, so keep away from women during menstruation and do not approach them until they are pure} [al-Baqarah 222]. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do everything except intercourse."
