✧ The Imam's Precedence to Mobilize and Abandoning People's Waiting

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَحْسَنُ النَّاسِ وَأَجْوَدُ النَّاسِ وَأَشْجَعُ النَّاسِ قَالَ «وَقَدْ فَزِعَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ لَيْلَةً سَمِعُوا صَوْتًا فَتَلَقَّاهُمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى فَرَسٍ لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ عُرْيٍ وَهُوَ مُتَقَلِّدٌ سَيْفَهُ» فَقَالَ «لَمْ تُرَاعُوا لَمْ تُرَاعُوا» ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَجَدْتُهُ بَحْرًا يَعْنِي الْفَرَسَ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the best of people, the most generous of people, and the bravest of people. He said: "The people of Madinah were frightened one night when they heard a sound, and the Prophet ﷺ met them on a horse belonging to Abu Talha that was unsaddled, and he was wearing his sword." He said, "Do not be alarmed, do not be alarmed." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I found it to be a sea," meaning the horse.
