✧ The Virtue of Migration

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ

أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْهِجْرَةِ فَقَالَ «وَيْحَكَ إِنَّ شَأْنَ الْهِجْرَةِ شَدِيدٌ فَهَلْ لَكَ مِنْ إِبِلٍ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَهَلْ تُؤَدِّي صَدَقَتَهَا؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاعْمَلْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْبِحَارِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى لَنْ يَتْرُكَ مِنْ عَمَلِكَ شَيْئًا»

✧ A bedouin asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about migration. He said: "Woe to you! The matter of migration is severe. Do you have camels?" He said: Yes. He said: "Do you pay their zakat?" He said: Yes. He said: "Then work beyond the seas, for Allah, Blessed and Exalted, will not leave any of your deeds unrewarded."
