أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو سَمِعَ عَطَاءً عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ §لَحِقَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ رَجُلًا فِي غَنِيمَةٍ لَهُ فَقَالَ
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَقَتَلُوهُ وَأَخَذُوا غَنِيمَتَهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى {وَلَا تَقُولُوا لِمَنْ أَلْقَى إِلَيْكُمُ السَّلَامَ لَسْتَ مُؤْمِنًا تَبْتَغُونَ عَرَضَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا} [النساء 94] تِلْكَ الْغَنِيمَةُ
Translation

✧ He said, 'Peace be upon you,' but they killed him and took his spoils. Then Allah, the Exalted, revealed: {And do not say to one who gives you a greeting of peace, 'You are not a believer,' seeking the temporary gains of the worldly life} [Quran 4:94]. That spoils.
