✧ Prayer in the Silk

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَعِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ اللَّيْثِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ
أُهْدِيَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَرُّوجُ حَرِيرٍ فَلَبِسَهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى فِيهِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَنَزَعَهُ نَزْعًا شَدِيدًا كَالْكَارِهِ لَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «لَا يَنْبَغِي هَذَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ»

✧ A silk coat was gifted to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He wore it, then prayed in it. Then he finished and took it off forcefully, like one who disliked it. Then he said: “This is not befitting for the righteous.”
