أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ قَادِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ
قَالَ سَعْدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ غَزَا عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ الْحَمْرَاءِ وَخَلَّفَ عَلِيًّا فَجَاءَ عَلِيٌّ حَتَّى أَخَذَ بِغَرْزِ النَّاقَةِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ زَعَمَتْ قُرَيْشٌ أَنَّكَ إِنَّمَا خَلَّفْتَنِي أَنَّكَ اسْتَثْقَلْتَنِي وَكَرِهْتَ صُحْبَتِي وَبَكَى عَلِيٌّ فَنَادَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي النَّاسِ «أَمِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا وَلَهُ حَامَةٌ؟ يَا ابْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي؟» قَالَ عَلِيٌّ «رَضِيتُ عَنِ اللهِ وَعَنْ رَسُولِهِ ﷺ»
Translation

✧ Sa'd b. Malik said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went on an expedition on his red camel and left 'Ali behind. 'Ali came and took hold of the camel's girth, saying, "O Messenger of Allah, Quraysh claim that you left me behind because you found me burdensome and disliked my company." 'Ali wept. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called out among the people, "Is there any one of you who does not have a close relative? O son of Abu Talib, are you not content that you are to me in the position of Harun to Musa, except that there is no prophet after me?" 'Ali said, "I am content with Allah and with His Messenger ﷺ."
