✧ Mentioning the Worship of Ali

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَجْلَحُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْهُذَيْلِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ

«مَا أَعْرِفُ أَحَدًا مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ عَبَدَ اللهَ بَعْدَ نَبِيِّهَا ﷺ غَيْرِي عَبَدْتُ اللهَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَعْبُدَهُ أَحَدٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ بِسَبْعِ سِنِينَ»

Translation

Chain of narrators

  2. Ibn Fuḍayl
  3. al-Ajlaḥ
  4. ʿAbdullāh b. Abū al-Hudhayl
  5. ʿAlī

✧ «I do not know anyone from this ummah who worshipped God after its Prophet ﷺ other than me. I worshipped God before anyone from this ummah worshipped Him by seven years.»
