✧ The Virtues of the Migrants and the Supporters

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مِسْكِينُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

كَانَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ تَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ [البحر الرجز] نَحْنُ الَّذِينَ بَايَعُوا مُحَمَّدَا عَلَى الْجِهَادِ مَا حَيِينَا أَبَدَا فَأَجَابَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «اللهُمَّ لَا عَيْشَ إِلَّا عَيْشُ الْآخِرَةِ فَاغْفِرْ لِلْأَنْصَارِ وَالْمُهَاجِرَةِ»

✧ On the day of the Trench, the Ansar were saying (in rajaz verse): 'We are those who pledged allegiance to Muhammad, to jihad as long as we live forever.' The Prophet ﷺ answered them: 'O God, there is no life but the life of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansar and the emigrants.'
