أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعَافَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْقَاسِمِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ مَعْنٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ الْمُعْتَمِرِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ كُنْتُ مُسْتَخْلِفًا أَحَدًا عَلَى أُمَّتِي مِنْ غَيْرِ مَشُورَةٍ لَاسْتَخْلَفْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If I were to appoint a successor over my community without consultation, I would have appointed Abdullah b. Mas'ud over them."
