أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

خَطَبَ ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ مَقْدَمَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ فَقَالَ «نَمْنَعُكَ مِمَّا نَمْنَعُ مِنْهُ أَنْفُسَنَا وَأَوْلَادَنَا فَمَا لَنَا؟» قَالَ «الْجَنَّةُ» قَالَ «رَضِينَا»

Translation

✧ Thabit b. Qays b. Shammas gave a speech when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Madinah and said: 'We will protect you from what we protect ourselves and our children from. So what is for us?' He said: 'Paradise.' He said: 'We are content.'
