أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ

عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَعْنِي أَنَسًا قَالَ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ وَالْحَسَنُ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ فَيَتَكَلَّمُ مَا بَدَا لَهُ ثُمَّ يُقْبِلُ عَلَيْهِ فَيُقَبِّلُهُ فَيَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أُحِبُّهُ فَأَحِبَّهُ» قَالَ وَيَقُولُ «إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ يُصْلِحَ بِهِ بَيْنَ فِئَتَيْنِ مِنْ أُمَّتِي»

✧ From one of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, meaning Anas, who said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ giving a sermon while al-Hasan was on his thigh. He would speak as long as he wished, then turn to him and kiss him, and say: "O Allah, I love him, so love him."' He said: 'And he would say: "I hope that Allah will bring about reconciliation through him between two factions of my Ummah."'
