✧ The Creation of the Mosque

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَائِذُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نُخَامَةً فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَغَضِبَ حَتَّى احْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ فَقَامَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَحَكَّتْهَا وَجَعَلَتْ فِي مَكَانِهَا خَلُوقًا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذَا»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw phlegm in the qiblah of the mosque and became angry until his face turned red. A woman from the Anṣār stood up, scraped it off, and put perfume in its place. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: «How excellent this is.»
