أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنِّي أَبْرَأُ إِلَى كُلِّ خَلِيلٍ مِنْ خِلَّةٍ وَلَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا لَاتَّخَذْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ خَلِيلًا وَإِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ خَلِيلُ اللهِ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said, "I am free before every close friend from close friendship. If I were to take a close friend, I would have taken Ibn Abi Quhafa as a close friend. Truly your companion is the close friend of God."
