أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مَنْصُورًا وَأَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ وَمُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِئْسَمَا لَأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "How bad it is for one of them to say, 'I forgot such-and-such a verse.' Rather, he was made to forget."
