أَخْبَرَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ

أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مَقْتَلَ أَهْلِ الْيَمَامَةِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَعِنْدَهُ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ الْقَتْلَ قَدِ اسْتَحَرَّ يَوْمَ الْيَمَامَةِ بِقُرَّاءِ الْقُرْآنِ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِطُولِهِ» مُعَادٌ

✧ Abu Bakr sent for me after the killing of the people of Yamamah. I went to him and Umar was with him. He said: "The killing was intense on the day of Yamamah among the reciters of the Qur'an." And he narrated the hadith in full. Mu'adh repeated it.
