حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِأُبَيٍّ «إِنَّ رَبِّي أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَعْرِضَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ» قَالَ أَوَ سَمَّانِي لَكَ؟ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «نَعَمْ» فَبَكَى أُبَيٌّ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ubayy: "My Lord commanded me to present the Qur'an to you." He said: Did He name me to you? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Yes." Ubayy wept.
