✧ Seeking refuge from the evil of what I haven't done.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حُصَيْنِ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ عَنْ فَرْوَةَ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ قُلْتُ حَدِّثِينِي بِشَيْءٍ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَدْعُو بِهِ قَالَتْ كَانَ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَمِلْتُ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا لَمْ أَعْمَلْ»

Translation

✧ I asked ʿĀʾishah, saying, "Tell me something the Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate with." She said, "He used to say: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done and from the evil of what I have not done.'"
