أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ الشَّحَّامُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُسْلِمُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعَنِي أَبِي وَأَنَا أَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ» قَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ مِمَّنْ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ سَمِعْتُكَ تَقُولُهُنَّ قَالَ الْزَمْهُنَّ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُهُنَّ

Translation

✧ My father heard me saying, 'O Allah, I seek refuge with You from laziness and the punishment of the grave.' He said, 'My son, from whom did you hear this?' I said, 'I heard you saying them.' He said, 'Stick to them, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying them.'
