أَخْبَرَنِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الزُّبَيْرَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا غَزَا أَوْ سَافَرَ فَأَدْرَكَهُ اللَّيْلُ قَالَ «يَا أَرْضُ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكِ اللهُ أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّكِ وَشَرِّ مَا فِيكِ وَشَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ فِيكِ وَشَرِّ مَا عَلَيْكِ أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ أَسَدٍ وَأَسْوَدَ وَحَيَّةٍ وَعَقْرَبٍ وَمِنْ سَاكِنِ الْبَلَدِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ وَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ»

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went on a military expedition or a journey and night overtook him, he would say, "O earth, my Lord and your Lord is Allah. I seek refuge in Allah from your evil, the evil of what is in you, the evil of what He created in you, and the evil of what is upon you. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of every lion, black serpent, snake, scorpion, and from the inhabitant of the land, and from the evil of a parent and what he begot."
