أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أُسَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أَصَابَنَا طَشٌّ وَظُلْمَةٌ فَانْتَظَرْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَيُصَلِّيَ لَنَا ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ كَلَامًا مَعْنَاهُ فَخَرَجَ فَقَالَ «قُلْ» قُلْتُ مَا أَقُولُ؟ قَالَ {قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ} [الإخلاص 1] وَالْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ حِينَ تُمْسِي وَتُصْبِحُ ثَلَاثًا يَكْفِيكَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ

Translation

✧ A light rain and darkness overtook us, so we waited for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to lead us in prayer. Then he mentioned words whose meaning was: He came out and said, "Say." I said, "What should I say?" He said, "{Say: He is Allah, the One} [al-Ikhlas 1] and the two refuge-seeking surahs, in the evening and the morning, three times; they will suffice you against everything."
