✧ The Compensation and the Punishment

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَهِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ وَأَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي آخِرُ وِتْرِهِ «أَعُوذُ» وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ لَا أَحْصِي ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say at the end of his witr: 'I seek refuge...' And Muhammad said: O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath, and I seek refuge in Your pardon from Your punishment, and I seek refuge in You from You. I cannot enumerate praise of You; You are as You have praised Yourself.
