✧ The Great and Patient

أَخْبَرَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ نَصْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ وَهِشَامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهِنَّ عِنْدَ الْكَرْبُ «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ»

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate with these words at times of distress: 'There is no god but Allah, the Great, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Noble Throne.'
