أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا الْأَحْوَصِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

أَتَى قَوْمٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَسْتَأْمِرُونَهُ أَنْ يَكْوُوا صَاحِبَهُمْ فَسَكَتَ ثُمَّ كَلَّمُوهُ فَسَكَتَ فَقَالَ أَرْضِفُوهُ أَحْرَقُوهُ وَكَرِهَ ذَلِكَ

Translation

✧ A group of people came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asking his permission to cauterize their companion, and he remained silent. Then they spoke to him again, and he remained silent. Then he said: "Scorch him, burn him," and he disliked that.
