أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مَعْمَرًا عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا عَدْوَى وَلَا هَامَةَ وَلَا صَفَرَ» فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ فَمَا بَالُ الْإِبِلِ تَكُونُ فِي الرَّمَلِ كَأَنَّهَا الظِّبَاءُ فَيُخَالِطُهَا الْبَعِيرُ الْأَجْرَبُ فَيُجْرِبُهَا؟ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «فَمَنْ أَعْدَى الْأَوَّلَ؟»

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "There is no contagion, no hāmah, and no ṣafar." A Bedouin said: "What about the camels that are in the sand, like gazelles, then a mangy camel mixes with them and makes them mangy?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "Then who infected the first one?"
