أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ وَالْحَارِثِ بْنِ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأنا أَسْمَعُ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ «إِذَا اشْتَكَى يَقْرَأُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بِالْمُعَوِّذَاتِ وَيَنْفُثُ فَلَمَّا اشْتَدَّ وَجَعُهُ كُنْتُ أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَمْسَحُ عَلَيْهِ» فِي حَدِيثِ الْحَارِثِ «عَنْهُ بِيَدِهِ رَجَاءَ بَرَكَتِهَا»

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ complained of pain, he would recite the muʿawwidhāt over himself and blow. When his pain became severe, I would recite over him and pass my hand over him—in al-Ḥārith’s narration: “with his hand, hoping for its blessing.”
