أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْثَرُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنٌ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ حُذَيْفَةَ عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ قَالَتْ

أَصَابَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حُمَّى شَدِيدَةٌ فَأَمَرَ بِسِقَاءٍ فَعُلِّقَ بِشَجَرَةٍ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ تَحْتَهُ فَجَعَلَ يَقْطُرُ عَلَى فُؤَادِهِ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ بَلَاءً الْأَنْبِيَاءُ ثُمَّ الْأَمْثَلُ فَالْأَمْثَلُ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ suffered a severe fever, so he ordered a waterskin that was hung on a tree, then he lay down beneath it, and it began to drip onto his heart. He said: “The most severely tried of people are the prophets, then the next best, then the next best.”
