al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 7325

✧ The man forgives the thief after the Imam comes to him, and the mention of the differences in giving in the narration of Safwan b. Umayyah in it.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمِ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا حِبَّانُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَرَقَ ثَوْبًا فَأُتِيَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَمَرَ بِقَطْعِهِ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هُوَ لَهُ قَالَ «فَهَلَّا قَبْلَ الْآنَ»

✧ A man stole a garment, so he was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who ordered his hand to be cut off. The man said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is his." He said, "Why not before now?"
